Horror Case Files: Truth or Die (2012)

Truth or Die

It is the 2nd annual Horror Case Files! You can check the list of the first Horror Case Files here. For the whole month, we are doing one movie a day for October in celebrating Halloween. Here we have Truth or Die, a 2012 British horror/thriller film. Too scared to watch it? The Horror Case Files reveal the background story, kill count, most creative kill, the killer(s), and what happened to the killer(s). WARNING! SPOILERS if you continue.

College students enter a cabin in the woods expecting a party, but end up playing a deadly game of truth or dare.

Most Creative Kill

The Killer(s)

Justin, is trying get revenge for his younger sibling Felix. Felix was trying to hang himself after receiving a certain postcard. Justin finds a picture with at a party with people’s faces scratched out. Justin lures these people to the cabin trying to figure out who sent the postcard.

What Happened to the Killer(s)

It was Eleanor that sent the postcard. She was trying to ask for help with a business I believe or something to that effect. She implied she had a dirt on Felix, and she did. She had Felix on camera going down on a guy. Felix felt afraid of what his Alpha male brother might do if he saw the footage. Eleanor tied up Justin and gave Felix a grenade to end his wheel chair bound life. Felix dropped the grenade killing himself and his brother.

Horror Case Files Verdict
Meh. It’s another torture movie, that has an ok twist at the end. Getting there was a chore. Most of the time, the characters make dumb decisions and you see where it is going. As for the truth or dare game itself, it’s redundant. Once, the dare comes out, it just repeats itself. Same old questions, and same dare. This could have been interesting with new questions slowly revealing things or new dares to mix it up. Another torture movie, another pass for me.

Random Info I got from this File:
  • Don’t struggle with the gun pointed at you
  • Don’t party at a cabin in the woods
  • Battery acid and water looks the same
File Status: 4 out of 10
