Horror Case Files: Friday the 13th (2009) Director’s Cut

Friday the 13th

It is the 2nd annual Horror Case Files! You can check the list of the first Horror Case Files here. For the whole month, we are doing one movie a day for October in celebrating Halloween. Here we have the Friday the 13th, the one that tried to reboot the franchise. Too scared to watch it? The Horror Case Files reveal the background story, kill count, most creative kill, the killer(s), and what happened to the killer(s). WARNING! SPOILERS if you continue.

You know the Friday the 13 plot..a bunch of kids getting killed by a mass murderer named Jason, at Crystal Lake.

Kill Count

15 people

4 sets of boobs

Most Creative Kill

An axe pushed through a person.

The Killer(s)

Jason Voorhees watches his mother get decapitated as a child at Crystal Lake. Now as an adult, he kills anyone who enters Crystal Lake.

What Happened to the Killer(s)

Whitney pretends to be Jason’s mom and stabs him in the chest. Her brother Clay, dumps Jason’s body in the lake. Right before the movie ends, Jason busts through the dock and grabs Whitney.

Horror Case Files Verdict
For the people who are not familiar with the franchise, this film tries to combine the original Friday the 13th part 1, 2, and 3. They show his mom in the beginning and how he got his mask. Well, like the A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, it just adds a new coat of paint. Nothing new is added to the slasher genre. Full of the same cliche characters, and the same formulaic pace. Some interesting kills, but no tense moments or scares like the originals. It’s alright, but you know what they say. Can’t beat the original. If it pops on cable or any of your streaming subscriptions it’s worth leaving it on or $0.99 rental.

Random Info I got from this File:
  • Jason knows archery and axe throwing
  • Don’t assume a black person that is trying to start a record label, is going to do rap music
  • Again, don’t stand by windows
  • Don’t play hockey in a shed
File Status: 7 out of 10
