Horror Case Files: ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 (2011)

ChromeSkull ReadyChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2

ChromeSkull is the sequel to the slasher flick Laid to Rest. The film takes place directly after the 1st film. Too scared to watch it? The Horror Case Files reveal the background story, kill count, most creative kill, the killer(s), and what happened to the killer(s). WARNING! SPOILERS if you continue.

It is revealed that ChromeSkull had a whole organization that runs back up for his murdering hobby. His organization comes to his rescue after being near death in the first film. ChromeSkull’s assistant finds the girl that fatally hurt his boss and stabs her to death. After 3 months of recovery, ChromeSkull is back on the streets hunting for new fishy.

Kill Count

11 people

Most Creative Kill

3 bladed knife with a spring trigger was inserted into a policewoman’s mouth and released.

The Killer

The movie still never explains who ChromeSkull actually is. He does have a lot of money to afford an organization to help him out. It is also revealed at the very end (after credits) that he had a pregnant wife who shot herself after finding out her husband is a murderer.

What Happened to the Killer

He gets shot, but had a bullet proof vest on. Now he is roaming the streets of LA.

Horror Case Files Verdict

Well, it was a pretty standard slasher movie, but the killings were at least creative. The story was bland, and I wish it expanded the story of the main character of the first one, instead of killing her in the first 5 minutes. Exploring the Chrome Skull lore or background would have been interesting. Nope, not of that. Nothing new, just a lot of bad decisions from characters who run into Chrome Skull.

Random Info I got from this File:
  • Don’t go into a room full of sharp objects with the killer
  • Don’t just stand in front of the killer and scream…RUN
  • If you see a tall guy with chrome skull mask and knife, just start shooting, instead of trying to arrest him
File Status: 5 out of 10
